ThinkPad Carbon X1 10th generation 2022

We got one of these in (the 4k display version) to certify yesterday. And it looks to be as good as the review claims.

We haven’t finished testing it yet, but the 4k display version, just barely misses the iPad Pro 12.9 miniLED for title of best display in a portable device that we’ve tested.

Pricey indeed, though it’s not that far off a comparably kitted Pro 8, albeit in a more conventional form. And the build quality is even better than the usual business ThinkPad line which is always stellar to begin with.

I have always thought the ThinkPad Carbon X1 was the apex of conventional laptops. I almost certainly would’ve had one at some point if not for my desire for a nonconventional laptop, one that could game, had touch & pen, and/or was convertible or detachable.

The X1 Carbon would have replaced my X301 Thinkpad had I not wandered onto this site. Microsoft lured me away with the solid design and build of the qSurface and the convenience of local stores.
