iPad Pro with "Pro Mode" and/or dual booting Mac OS?

My guess is maintaining class-leading efficiency. iOS and iPadOS are exceptionally efficient with CPU cycles and memory space because they race to sleep for apps that are not in the foreground. (I have seen this lead to some apps, when moved to the background, clearing out their active session by the OS if developers have not added state saving into their apps.) More than four active apps could result in a drop in battery life and eat into memory space more than iOS/iPadOS were originally designed for.

EDIT: As I got back online to finish this reply, I see that @Desertlap just answered this question and confirmed what I had suspected. =)
